Dear Jill & Don, 

We got your beautiful Christmas card and news letter some time ago and I'm just now getting around to updating you all on our "Star".  As you know, we bought Star from Brookston Kennels in February 2007 for our Valentine's Day anniversary.  I know you won't forget all the trouble I put you through in order to fly her from Indiana to El Paso, Texas during your snow storms.   It has been a truly amazing year for little Star. 

We started her obedience training as soon as she completed her puppy veterinary care.  She took her first puppy class and the automatically went into an advanced training class after that, skipping Basic Classes.  She's a very smart little girl! 

In September of 2007 I entered her in Novice Obedience and Novice Rally Obedience Trials in Alamogordo, NM.  She didn't qualify for leg in Obedience but she got her first two legs in Rally.  That in itself was pretty amazing.  She was only about 9 months old at the time and had never been on a Rally course prior to the Trials.  She also placed in second place out of about 13 dogs. 

I entered her again in Obedience and Rally about two weeks ago.  She is now 14 months old and starting to gain more focus.  She qualified for two legs in Novice Obedience and got her third leg and RN title and also placed third with a score of 99 (perfect is 100 and she placed 3rd by the tiime).  Again, this was now the 3rd time she's been on a Rally course.  The second day I moved her up to Rally Advanced and she qualified for her first leg. 

We are back home now and training both of my German Shepherds for the next competition.   They are truly intelligent and versatile dogs.  Star is such a beautiful dog that she draws attention everwhere she goes.  I know we didn't buy our "Chief" from you but I do have to brag that he does the same.  He has also had a busy year.  He now has his RN, RA and CD titles.
