ABOUT US
We are a Christian family and our faith plays an important
role in our daily lives. We are an AKC German Shepherd breeder
with champion imported adults from Germany and Hungary. We have
had our American Kennel Club inspection this spring and
everything was found to be in great condition. We are family
owned and operated. Don has owned dogs all of his 70 years but
his true passion for the German Shepherd Dog breed developed in
1968 while he was stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and
purchased a German Shepherd puppy for his family. Not only did
“Slugger” prove to be a very protective family dog, he went on
to work for the Marines once Don’s tour in Cuba ended. Don’s son
noted that when he later was stationed there, a plaque had been
placed honoring “Slugger” for is work with the Marines.
We own a 19 acre farm in northwestern Indiana and when my son
and his wife (Ken and Lewana Uselton) decided to begin a career
together driving a tractor-trailer, they offered to sell us
their kennel equipment and their tremendous German imported
dogs. We felt this was such an honor to continue with the kennel
they had established for five years and a wonderful opportunity
for me to be able to do something in my “golden years” (after
retiring from the United States Coast Guard) that I could
enjoy. In 2005, we purchased the kennel equipment and many of
the dogs from Prairie Haus Kennels (my son and his wife) and
began raising the same high quality puppies from their imported
German Shepherd Dogs as they did. We are truly thankful for all
of their help and support over these past two years.
Our puppies are family raised and properly socialized. They
are all sold with a 100% hip and health guarantee IN WRITING. We
begin feeding our puppies solid puppy food at four weeks of age
and they are then weaned at six weeks of age. We feel that this
gives them an advantage over puppies that are left with the
mother until they are six weeks old and then weaned abruptly.
Each puppy is de-wormed every two weeks along with his or her
mother, they are given their first puppy shot and each are
micro-chipped. We send the puppies home with a small “puppy
package” with the health records, litter certificate, pedigrees
and hip certifications of both parents, photos of parents and
general information to assist you with raising your new
puppy. We also offer the peace of mind that we are available to
assist you if you have any problems or concerns. Please call or
email us at anytime. Our championship bloodlines are suitable
for police work, search and rescue, Schutzhund competition as
well as loving family pet. We offer something for everyone and
stand behind our contract 100%.
